World Cup final weekend: South Africa in for a shock? PDF Print
Thursday, 18 October 2007

I've had a few emails this week. Most have been reminding me of the opening match of the Rugby World Cup and most have been from South Africans.

While I didn't really fancy England to do well in this tournament they've certainly turned it around and must really fancy their chances after beating France last weekend.

The starting XV for South Africa have 668 international caps in total and they're the most experienced side to play. This will be a tough match but can you imagine the England team watching the defeat from last month on the Friday night?

There is no better motivation than watching that match and England are coming good at the right time.

It's also nice to see Mark Cueto come in for Josh Lewsey on the wing. Its the only change and he's more than up to the job.

I didn't want to be in South Africa after that last match but I think it might be fun to be in South Africa on Saturday night.

The point is, for all the South Africans that emailed in after the victory last month and for all those that have emailed in since last weekend; I hope you're able to accept some of the emails back, if as I hope, England win on Saturday night, because I assure you, the emails will be coming.
