I was thinking about how to mention this on here because this site is mostly personal. What I mean is, I'm not going to promote something for the sake of promoting it and I do have a connection with RocketWerx.
The connection is the owner of and RocketTheme. His name is Andy Miller and the reason I was thinking about how to mention it was because I didn't know how we were linked.
We're LinkedIn but he's not a friend, as in we don't 'really' talk as friends and he's not a mate because we've never sat and shared a few beers and smoked a cigar. I've never actually met him, which is probably why.
He's actually a pal. 'Pal' was the best word I could find in my soon to be limited vocabulary to describe him as we've chatted and do chat. So that's the link and the reason why I'm writing this. Also, because I'm very very impressed by it.
I emailed Andy years ago about a template he made, probably the most famous template in the world of Joomla and Mambo, Solar Flare. He didn't answer the first time so I sent it again. He answered and my problem got fixed. The thing is, he probably received quite literally hundreds of emails about that template but he took the time to answer.
Anyway, when he started MamboDev (I think it was called), I signed up. It then turned into something else, I think, before becoming RocketTheme and ever single thing he's released has been excellent, without exception.
Well, today he's launched RocketWerx along with a few other very impressive Joomla! guys and I can categorically say it is going to be a success.
It will be a success because what they're telling us they're going to be releasing is all good and if I've learnt anything from the past few years it is that there are other things in the pipeline at various stages.
The reason for this post? If you're involved with Joomla you should know about RocketWerx and if you're not, well, you really shouldn't have got this far.
