Bygdsiljum has a proud sporting history and they should do after the I learnt that the local sports club has been around for 75 years. To celebrate they had a day of football, face painting and wall climbing. Tonight there is a big dinner for everyone who managed to get a baby sitter. I'll be sitting at home watching the football instead!
The highlight of the day were the three football matches. One team played the mums, the other team played the dads and an old rivalry between a very close village was stirred as BSK played Överklinten in the main event.
The match finished 3-1 to BSK which was handy because a lot of the Överklinten players work in Bygdsiljum so there could have been a few choice words on Monday morning had they failed to topple their local rivals. As it turns out, a few of the lads from Överklinten, who had played for Bygdsiljum in the past and decided to jump ship when their club needed them most, will probably be getting a bit of stick instead and rightly so.
A few photo's below, not many, but it's worth noting that BSK don't have an active team so these lads stepped out of retirement for the day and did their village proud. That's a sort of disclaimer for those that maybe don't look in the best of shape. Sorry.
